Chamonix is the closest great mountain resort to Geneva, about 88 km, a little over an hour by road. Your chauffeur meets you in arrivals and takes the A40 "Autoroute Blanche" south, following the Arve valley to the foot of Mont Blanc (4,808 m).

Chamonix is over the French border, so carry a valid ID or passport. It is the capital of alpine mountaineering, the Aiguille du Midi, the Vallee Blanche and the Mont Blanc massif draw skiers and climbers all year, so it stays busy in summer too.
